Encryption is equally strong at all three levels. What differs is how far Sectigo checks the website owner’s identity before issuing, and what the certificate says inside.

SSL Certificate FAQ
Jetorbit Cloud Hosting already includes free SSL. When do I need to buy a certificate?
The free SSL on Cloud Hosting is a DV certificate that stays active for as long as your plan does, and it is enough for most websites. Buy a certificate when you need your company name in the certificate (OV or EV), a wildcard for many subdomains, a certificate for a VPS, server or app outside your hosting, or a certificate from a commercial CA because a client or regulator requires one.
Does EV still show a green address bar?
No. Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Safari stopped marking EV differently, so DV, OV and EV all show the same padlock. The company name in OV and EV certificates appears when a visitor opens the certificate details. Choose EV when you actually need the strict identity check, for example for an audit or a payment partner’s requirements, not for how it looks in the browser.
What is the difference between PositiveSSL and Essential SSL?
Both are Sectigo DV certificates with the same encryption, validation method and browser trust. They differ in product line and Sectigo’s warranty terms. If all you need is HTTPS for one domain, PositiveSSL DV is enough.
Which subdomains does a wildcard cover?
A wildcard for *.yourdomain.com covers yourdomain.com and every subdomain one level below it, such as www, mail, app or shop.yourdomain.com. A second-level subdomain such as api.app.yourdomain.com needs its own wildcard for *.app.yourdomain.com.
How long is a certificate valid?
The subscription is billed yearly. Since 15 March 2026 the CA/Browser Forum rules cap a single certificate at 200 days, so within one year of subscription the certificate is reissued at no extra cost and has to be installed on the server again.
Can I install the certificate on a server outside Jetorbit?
Yes. A certificate is tied to the domain name, not to a server provider. You can install it on any hosting, Cloud VPS, dedicated server, load balancer or mail server. If you need help generating a CSR or installing the certificate, open a ticket at jto.us/bantuan.
Just need HTTPS for one website?
Jetorbit Cloud Hosting includes free SSL for as long as your plan is active, so you do not need to buy a separate certificate.
