Move your VPS to Cloud Jetorbit, our team does the moving
The Jetorbit Managed Service team moves the website, database and email from your old VPS. The new server is tested first, and DNS is pointed over only after everything is running.
- Website & applications
- Files, runtime and dependencies
- Database
- Copied, then synced again at cutover
- Accounts and mailbox contents
- Web server & SSL
- Reinstalled and tuned on the new server
- DNS
- Pointed to Cloud Jetorbit in the final step
From your old VPS to managed at Jetorbit
The old server keeps serving visitors throughout. Visitors are sent to Cloud Jetorbit only after the website has been tried on the new server.
- step 01
Assessment
We take stock of the applications, databases and email running on the old VPS, then match them to a Cloud VPS plan with enough room.
- step 02
New server setup
The OS and applications are installed on the Cloud VPS, then our team tunes and hardens it.
- step 03
Copy data & test
Files, databases and email are copied. The website is tried on the new server before visitors are sent there.
- step 04
DNS switch
DNS is pointed to Cloud Jetorbit. Data that changed during the process is copied again so nothing is left behind.
- step 05
Managed
The server joins Managed Service. Hit a problem or need a change? Open a ticket and our team handles it.
What you need to have ready
Just access and a little information. Our team does the technical work.
Access to the old VPS
Root SSH login or control panel access, so our team can copy the data.
Access to your domain’s DNS
Login to the panel where your domain’s DNS is managed, for the final step.
What is running
Active applications, databases, email accounts and cron jobs. No list yet? We compile one during assessment.
Your quiet hours
Tell us when your website traffic is lowest, so DNS is switched during that window.
Tell us about the VPS you want to move
This is the input for the assessment: our team picks a Cloud VPS plan with enough room and plans the migration order before contacting you.
