Langkah-Langkah Reset Password VPS via Rescue Mode

1. Akses Console Server

Karena SSH tidak bisa digunakan, masuk melalui:

• Panel VPS (https://cloud.jetorbit.com/) → Console / VNC
• Proxmox → Console (noVNC)
• IPMI / KVM fisik

Kemudian reboot server.

2. Masuk ke Menu GRUB

Saat proses booting:

• Tekan ESC atau tahan SHIFT
• Sampai muncul menu GRUB

Pilih:

Advanced options for Ubuntu

Kemudian pilih:

Ubuntu ... (recovery mode)

3. Masuk ke Root Shell

Pada menu Recovery Mode pilih:

root – Drop to root shell prompt

Sistem akan masuk ke terminal root.

4. Ubah Filesystem ke Mode Read-Write

Secara default filesystem dalam mode read-only.

Jalankan:

mount -o remount,rw /

Verifikasi:

mount | grep " / "

Pastikan muncul rw.

5. Reset Password User

Ganti password user dengan perintah:

passwd username

Contoh:

passwd root

Masukkan password baru dan konfirmasi.

Jika berhasil akan muncul:

password updated successfully

6. Reboot Server

Ketik:

reboot

Setelah server menyala kembali, login menggunakan password baru.
